WoW Delves: A Practical Season Guide

This short guide helps you find your efficiency zone in the new season. By measuring EV/GPH with LootCalc, you can choose tiers and configs with clear, quantitative trade-offs.

1) Picking the Right Tier

• Define your goal: gearing, weekly objectives, or steady gold? Different goals lead to different ideal tiers.
• Evaluate with the calculator: open the Delves Calculator, pick season/tier, enter runtime and costs, then Calculate.
• Watch the two core metrics:
  • EV (per run) answers "is each run worth it?"
  • GPH (per hour) compares time efficiency across setups.
• Check marginal gains: step through adjacent tiers. If GPH doesn't improve while runtime and costs balloon, you've hit your personal efficiency ceiling.

2) Tips to Improve Efficiency

• Control costs: potions, enchants, repairs, and travel add up. Use the lowest cost that keeps you stable; fill each line item so LootCalc shows the real impact.
• Stabilize runtime: large variance dilutes GPH. Record 3–5 runs and use the average.
• Beware fake gains: a higher tier with much longer runs and bigger costs can increase EV yet decrease GPH.
• Common question: the green EV is per-run, so it doesn't change with runs; total expectation = EV × runs. See the FAQ.
